About Me
Hello, my name is David. I am a Software Engineering student at Centennial College in Ontario.
I have just entered my second year in this advanced diploma program which includes a co-op. Throughout
my time in this program I have gained incredibly valuable skills to help me pursue a Software Engineering career.
Within this program, I have been able to work effectively in teams to develop, troubleshoot, and enhance code.
During this work I have been able to develop technical design documents, undergo the development process, facilitate meetings, and
present our work to a class of peers.
Working within the Software Development Life Cycle, I have been able to incorporate and learn about programming processes such as Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods.
Throughout this program I have worked hands on with programming, testing, and submitting developed projects in languages
and libraries such as: C#, Java, NodeJS, RobotJS, JavaScript, SQL, and HTML/CSS.

Gained experience in working on a team, developing, and presenting technical documents as well as developing code, troubleshooting with issues that arise, and assist in translating requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
Working with an agile Software Development methods including: SCRUM, Kanban, and Waterfall methods. During these development processes I would work to estimate tasks we may require to perform the coding, testing, and designing.

During this program I gained effective critial thinking skills, time management, communication skills, and leadership skills.
During this program I gained discipline skills to effectively learn the anatomy needed to become a Nurse along with learning about the many medications one can give, the effects the medications have, and the proper way to understand if someone can take these medications.
I graduated from this program and became a Registered Practical Nurse, obtaining a job as a Paediatric Nurse.

Work primarily coded in Javascript and React for a mobile app.
Working on a team such as this has given me incredible experience working with React, Xcode, and Javascript in a Software Developer setting. On this team we use agile process models such as Kanban, and SCRUM.
Throughout working on this project I have been able to gain experience working with Git-Lab, this includes, committing code, opening merge requests, and merging approved requests. Working with this team also allows for unit testing to be done effectively and efficiently. - Southlake Regional Health Center

In this position I have been able to gain extraordinary teamwork experience, communication skills, and effective time management skills.
Working as a nurse I have been able to work under pressure and in intense situations, during this work I developed critical thinking skills which allow situations to go by smooth.

2021 - Present
In this position I assist the Optometrist with a patients appointment. This can include taking an early perscription of their eyes, testing the pressure of the eyes, and relaying this Informationto the Doctor.
In This office I work in our Dry Eye clinic where I am able to work more closely with people, testing their eyes, taking photos of the glands of their eye lids, and working with the doctor to figure out the course of treatment.
